Musicians are exceptional people with the capacity to make new inventions in the area of their act. It thus amounts to locking their creative power to insist that they must continue to play music that promoters consider prototypical. The industry is one that thrives only when there is unconditional freedom for people to unleash their imaginative wits.

Ever Since Ancient Shadows was released in 2006 we’ve been eager to hear what Spanish Composer/Singer Priscilla Hernandez would do next. It has been a long time coming but The Underliving is now here and it is everything you could wish for and more. Packaged in a deluxe digipack it includes a 52 page booklet with beautiful illustrations and photography, and insights into the songs and The Underliving’s place in the Yidneth mythology. It is a shadowy place somewhere betwixt and between the Mortal and Faerie worlds, and the songs on The Underliving tell the stories of it’s inhabitants and their interactions with and influences on our world. The stand out tracks for me are The Underliving, In My Mind’s Eye, and Off The Lane, but the whole album is hauntingly lovely, sending shivers up the spine!

Behind the jukebox, where the two bathrooms are, alongside the bathrooms is a corridor, that leads to the back door of the bar, you can leave by that way, but you can't come in that way, it leads to the street. The walls are plain, no paintings or anything. It is near closing of the same evening, now night. The bar is light lightly, softer music is being played, people are drunker up what they have left, gulping it down, resting their elbows on the bar, the bar closes at 1:00 p.m., the last call for drinks has been called already, and it is twenty-minutes to one. Chick inhales his 57th cigarette for the day, slowly and then puts it out in a nearby ashtray. Then whipping his hands onto his trousers, he leans back, stretches his legs, and waits.

Their first album was Michelia Campaka, released in 2007 and another is currently in production.
