Luciano Pavarotti, a native of Modena, Italy, truly earned the meaning of his first name through the life he lived. Luciano, from the Latin word "lucidus" meaning "full of light" has become such an appropriate description of his brilliant voice, his career and his heart. Pavarotti was blessed with his father's talent, who although worked as a baker, was actually a tenor in his own right.
