Art is the outward expression of a feeling, idea or point of view that an artist has. Most art of this nature are very personal items to their creators. Throughout history there has been artist and those who appreciated their medium.

Man has always been interested in his image and likeness. Portrait sculpture touches us because it brings us face to face with people from the past and preserves the features, expression, clothes and jewellery of a time now gone. We can see the costumes of Pharaohs or Shakespeare, the face of beauties from history, and the true likeness of heroes who have been immortalised in stone or metal.

Just imagine how our world would be if we did not have the colors that make up our physical world. It is through the colors that we are able to distinguish or recognize the physical dimension of our existence on this earth and enjoy nature's wonders. Painters use color as a tool of expression to bring out their creativity and express it through the medium.

Painters lose themselves in their art....at least that is what they say. Actually, we do in a way. Our thoughts and feelings glide on the canvas or paper allowing us to express what our mood might be. It can be happy and show a painting full of color and expression and it could be somber showing a painting in more muted tones.

There is the famous expression, "you are what you eat." The U.S. is best known for its burgers, large steak, and fast food restaurants. A culture is not defined by what they necessarily create, but by how they contribute and give to the rest of the world.
